Lukas Hassel is an actor, writer and filmmaker living in New York City. Born and raised in Denmark, he studied acting in The Samuel Beckett Theatre School, Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.
He recurred on The Blacklist, NBC as Elias VanDyke in seasons 8 and 9 as well as in Blue Bloods, Elementary, Law and Order and more, and feature films like The Black Room, Slapface, The 7th Secret and Art of the Dead.
As a writer, he has won the ScreenCraft and CineStory Fellowships. Been top 30 and top 40 in the Nicholl fellowship as well as winning Shore Film Fund TV Pilot and Fresh Voices and many more writing competitions with his screenplays across genres like horror, sci-fi, drama and psychological thriller.
As a director, Lukas created the award winning short films, the sci-fi “Into the Dark” about to be developed into a feature length, and psychological horror, “The Son, the Father…”, Dummy and most recently the psychological horror, Up Close.
He wrote the psychological horror thriller feature “House of Abraham”, starring opposite Natasha Henstridge and Lin Shaye slated to get a theatrical release later this year.
